CAPITAL SPORTS ONLINE
Live Play by Play - Archived Replays

Capital Sports Online started as Columbus Sports Webcast by Bruce Giesecke in the fall of 2005 covering high school football and basketball in the Columbus area and then later adding Central Community College basketball. The next year Central Community College volleyball was also added.
A family relocation to Lincoln put broadcasting on hold in 2007 but then picked up again in 2008 with a new name, Capital Sports Online, and new teams as Giesecke started broadcasting Nebraska Wesleyan football and Wesleyan Mens and Womens basketball games. Several Lincoln Lutheran boys and girls basketball games were also broadcast. Capital Sports Online currently is broadcasting Norris High School sports.
Giesecke's start in broadcasting began while working for a group of radio stations in Columbus. He was involved in Internet marketing but was also the studio engineer during broadcasts of high school sports from all around the Columbus area. After dozens of games behind the scenes he was asked by Jim Dolezal to to go with him to a basketball tournament to try his hand at calling a game. After a few less than perfect tries Giesecke eventually became a part of the broadcast team. While broadcasting a high school basketball game on radio, he noticed a student calling the game into a laptop. After talking with the student and doing some research, Columbus Sports Webcast was born.
In the time since, Giesecke has broadcast football
from 8-man, including the Nebraska - Oklahoma 8 man All-star game in 2006 and
the Kansas - Nebraska 8 man All-star game in 2008, to NAIA football and Minor League football .He has also broadcast all
classes of basketball including high school, Junior College and NCAA III. His broadcast count now numbers over
200 games in 43 towns and 4 states with 120 of those on the Internet.
Besides enjoying broadcasting games, his goal is to be able to get others involved by having students help with the broadcast. This could include doing some play-by-play or color commentary, recording the school bulletin or weekly sports results to be played back during the broadcast or interviewing a coach or teacher for replay as well.
